The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at MIIRS is a 5-year, semester-based professional degree affiliated with the University of Sargodha (UOS) under Code # 681. The program follows the curriculum prescribed by the University of Sargodha and HEC, and the standards of the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC).
Students study basic medical sciences — anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology and microbiology — in fully equipped labs and the anatomy museum, followed by kinesiology, biomechanics, electrotherapy, exercise therapy and clinical physical therapy.
Clinical training is carried out at the physiotherapy department of the 600-bedded M. Islam Teaching Hospital, which manages approximately 220–250 patients per month. Ward rotations start from the third year onward, along with internship and house job opportunities to ensure hands-on clinical experience.
